Life Church Alpha Team

The Life Church Alpha Team is responsible for running our Alpha Classes. We expect the Alpha Team to comprise 3 – 4 people.

So far, Life Church has done Alpha classes in collaboration with Awaken City Church. We also expect to offer some Alpha classes on our own. This page provides guidance to team members in managing joint or solo Alpha classes.

Alpha Setup Steps

Here are the steps for setting up a new Alpha class. New team members should be prepared to work closely with the existing team members so that they can eventually learn how to run the entire class.
  1. Make a commitment to lead!
  2. Review this list and update as needed.
This is a very important step! No list is perfect and all programs change. It is critical for the team to make sure that they understand any changes that need to be made to our Alpha process.
  3. Explore materials at Alpha New England website.
  4. Get schedule from website and participate in Run Alpha Training and/or Run Alpha Team Training Day offered by Boston City-Wide Alpha.
  5. Determine if we will offer Alpha independently or in partnership as a joint Alpha class.
  6. Decide location
  7. Set time and date to begin
  8. Explore Alpha Resource Documents and follow the Detailed Alpha Planning Checklist to create and advertise class beginning three months in advance.
  9. Work with Alpha New England to advertise class, get flyers and postcards.
  10. Regularly collect feedback so that we can continually improve our Alpha classes.
